Membership at Vineyard Gilbert
When the New Testament talks about being "members" of Christ's body it isn’t speaking about joining an organization. It’s talking about becoming relationally connected in a church that is a local expression of the body of Christ in that community. Membership is lived out in a relational context as each member (i.e., each person) is connecting, growing, and serving with other members within the church (1 Corinthians 12:27).
What we ask of members reflects this relational connectedness that we see in scripture. We ask four things of people who are members of our church (these four things are noted on the membership form):
We ask those who are interested in membership at VG to listen to these three audio messages.
What we ask of members reflects this relational connectedness that we see in scripture. We ask four things of people who are members of our church (these four things are noted on the membership form):
- Regularly attend a weekend service.
- Connect and become involved in some kind of small group.
- Find a place to serve.
- Help support the ministry of the church financially.
We ask those who are interested in membership at VG to listen to these three audio messages.
In addition, here's a link to a larger membership booklet we have used in the past. It has some great information and articles you may want to check out.
As you listen to the messages and look over these membership materials, we are available to answer any questions you may have. Just contact the church office and we will set up a time to get together.
Finally, here's a link to the membership form. (For married couples we ask each person to complete a membership form).
