Helping Hard Rock October Update

We have a lot of exciting new opportunities this month to partner with the Hard Rock community. The next trip planned will be the beginning of November, and it will be our last one for this calendar year. With this in mind, we are focusing on two items.

Firewood: Many homes on the reservation use wood burning stoves to heat their homes,  and elders will often ask the chapter house for firewood as the weather cools down.

New toys: Christmas will be a month away when we deliver our next load, and we would like to help families that could use extra support with toys to gift their kids. We ask the toys to be new and unwrapped.

Drop off items at Vineyard Gilbert during Sunday morning services, or on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am-1pm. Or, donate financially on our vineyardgilbert.com website or the app.

**Interesting fact about Navajo culture**
The Navajos, like other Native American cultures, and unlike the European culture, view time in terms of what it means, vs when it happens. Time, and therefore, events in history, are looked at cyclically and in how they are intertwined and related to each other, instead of a chronological sequence of events.

"Come close to my side, you whose hearts are on the ground, you who are pushed down and worn out, and I will refresh you. Follow my teachings and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart, and you will find rest from your troubled thoughts. Walk side by side with me and I will share in your heavy load and make it light."
Matthew 11:28-30 (First Nations Version)
