Life together in the time of covid-19

We love being a community at Vineyard Gilbert.

We believe that gathering as a body on Sunday mornings is so much more than a distribution of content, but rather it is a time that we are able to come together to experience the manifest presence of God.

We also recognize that we are in a global pandemic, and we want to be responsible and loving in our efforts to come together as a community. Throughout the pandemic we've seen that many in our community have different comfort levels and different circumstances in their lives as they consider connecting in-person. Because of that, there are a few  ways that we are putting forth effort to create a safe environment during this time.

Precautions at Vineyard Gilbert

Recommended Mask Wearing

While not required, wearing face masks is recommended.  The principal mode by which persons are infected with SARS-CoV-2 is through exposure to respiratory fluids carrying infectious virus.1 During this time we are monitoring Community Transmission levels for our county and making our recommendation in light of that.2 (Learn More) We have signs hanging around our church campus with this recommendation, and will update the signage weekly according to the most recent data available.

Bi-Polar Ionization System

We have installed iWave air purification technology in our worship center, student ministries and Jr. High rooms, and all children's classrooms. iWave is an air purifying device that installs in any duct air conditioning system. When air passes over the iWave, ions produced by the device reduce pathogens, allergens, particles, smoke and odors in the air, creating a healthy environment without producing any harmful byproducts. There have been studies done showing effectiveness against the Covid-19 virus.3 We keep all our iWave units on "recirculation mode" during gatherings to help with keeping the air fresh, and we use higher quality air filters that are commonly used in hospital and medical facilities.

Social Distancing

Maintaining physical distance is something that we encourage during this time as well (especially during times of high or substantial Community Transmission Levels). This includes practicing awareness in conversations, and even taking extended conversations outdoors. Inside the Worship Center we also have seating spaced out to facilitate this distancing during our gatherings.

Maintaining Connectedness Online

Throughout the pandemic the team at Vineyard Gilbert has put much effort into developing ways for those who are unable to attend in person to do so online. From developing our streaming technology to our Vineyard Gilbert app, it is our heart that connectedness and (even more important) discipleship happens throughout this time that we're in.
