We believe that we are called to love our neighbors, and very often that literally means the person next door. During the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vineyard Gilbert is engaging our community in some practical and meaningful ways.

Food Pantry

Through our food pantry, we assist families in our community. Last year, we provided 4,226 food boxes given to 23,306 people in need.
 
The current hours for our food pantry is:
Tuesdays from 10am-1pm (and for emergencies upon request)

FAQ

Q:Is there a cost? A: No, there is no cost.
Q:Is a form of identification needed? A: Yes, we do ask for ID as proof of Arizona residency. If you do not have an ID, we can also take a utility bill.
Q:Is there a need for volunteers? A: Yes, we can always use volunteers to carry boxes of food to people’s cars and pray with them!
***On the 3rd Tuesday of every month, the Food Pantry is now open from 6pm-7:30pm.***

Helping the Navajo Nation

Vineyard Gilbert is partnering with the AZ Vineyard Church in Goodyear, Arizona, to meet needs in communities on the Navajo Nation. The communities on the Navajo Nation have been hit hard by the COVID-19 virus, and in many of these communities, resources are scarce. Let’s come together to help!
 
If you would like to contribute to this need, we will be available to receive donations on:  

Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10am – 1pm 
(in the lobby of the worship center).

Here is a list of items that are needed in these communities:
  • Water (many isolated places need to import their water)

  • Masks (if you would like to join the Sewing Team to make masks that will be used for this, CLICK HERE)

  • Healthy Immune Boosting Teas
  • Vitamin C
  • Isopropyl Alcohol & Aloe Vera

  • And, of course: Prayer. Lots of prayer!

Sewing Team

We have received a request from AZCEND, a local non-profit who provides services like I-HELP, to sew 300+ face masks to be used by their employees, volunteers, clients experiencing homelessness, seniors, and other vulnerable/high-risk members of our community. There is also a request by Banner for the community to sew masks. Using face masks, or other face coverings as a protective barrier over one’s mouth and nose is a proven way to reduce exposure and mitigate the transmission of respiratory illness.

We would like to partner with them and are inviting YOU to join our work-from-home *Sewing Team*. There are only two qualifications: access to a sewing machine, and the ability to sew a straight-ish line  There are many patterns available online. If you are an experienced seamstress and have your own pattern, feel free to use it. We have included a link to a blog post with a pattern, instructions, and video. At this point elastic is in short supply, so we’ve chosen a pattern which includes instructions for either elastic (if you already have elastic or can find it in stores) or ties. Masks should be made of 100% cotton so they can be washed in hot water and dried on hot/high heat. This is the most effective way to sanitize them between uses.

You can select the number of masks you can sew, indicate if you will be using your own stash/repurposed cotton fabric, or if we can provide fabric to keep your sewing machine humming  When we have received your completed form, you will receive instructions on how to return the completed masks.

This is a great hands-on opportunity to help while we’re all home together!
